The Human Resource Department, not just another department!

The Human Resource Department, Open Campus, consists of a multi-talented team of dynamic individuals charged with the responsibility of leading the development and implementation of The UWI Open Campus, Human Resource Strategy. This strategy is embedded across all functional areas of HR including; Recruitment, Performance Management, Compensation, Employee Engagement and Training.

In the HR Department, we fully endorse the view that organizations derive their competitive advantage through employees and also believe that one of the best ways to reach maximum levels of efficiency, and by extension to leverage this 'competitive advantage', is by hiring and retaining excellent employees. Given that factor, we strive to promote an environment in which staff can be highly engaged and motivated, while pursuing their personal goals and at the same time contributing to the wider organizational goals.

Due to the distributed nature of our operations as a Campus, the HR Department can be found at three (3) jurisdictions across the region. The Office of the Director of Human Resources is located at St. Augustine in Trinidad and Tobago; while the other units are located on the Cave Hill Campus in Barbados and the Mona Campus in Jamaica.
