POST OF LECTURER
Faculty of Medical Sciences, The Hugh Wynter Fertility Management Unit (HWFMU)
The role of lecturer, HWFMU is diverse, involving a wide array of Gynaecologic Management, research, teaching, Minimally Invasive Gynaecologic Surgery (MIGS) and Advanced Fertility Management. In the setting of academic excellence at the UWI, student affairs and lecturing are critical components of all facets of the job.
The Lecturer has the direct responsibility to provide academic, administrative and clinical leadership to ensure the effective management of the HWFMU. The Lecturer reports directly to the Director of the HWFMU to affect the policies and strategic plans of the HWFMU. The consultant will be responsible for aligning with and partaking in collaborative efforts with the Head and consultants of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in particular but also other clinical and non-clinical departments to ensure training and development of undergraduate and postgraduate students of the University of the West Indies.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Postgraduate degree: DM (O&G) or MRCOG. Fellowship in MIGS or REI
Undergraduate degree: MB.BS., MD
Fellowship or Diploma in Gynaecologic Endoscopy (laparoscopy and Hysteroscopy)
Fellowship or Diploma in In Vitro Fertilization
- Vaginal surgery (experience in performing vaginal hysterectomies, the repair of cystoceles and rectoceles)
- The ability to perform research and publish scientific Papers
- Lecturing (experience in teaching medical students and residents)
