Profile of the Human Resource Manager

Eric Innocent Baron

On February 4, 2013, Eric Innocent Baron, joined The UWI Open Campus as Human Resource Manager based at the Open Campus St. Augustine Site. He has a distinguished public sector career in his native Trinidad and Tobago and as such brought a wealth of knowledge to the Open Campus.

He previously held the position of Programme Director at Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business (ALJGSB), UWI, St. Augustine and held several Senior Management positions in the public sector in Trinidad and Tobago. Positions held included; Vice President Human Resources at the College of Science Technology and Applied Arts of Trinidad and Tobago (COSTAATT), Director Human Resources Management at the National Library and Information Systems Authority (NALIS) and General Manager Human Resources at South West Regional Health Authority (SWRHA). He has significant experience in strategic human resource management, including workforce planning and organisational transformation.

Eric Innocent Baron holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Human Resources Management, and an Executive Master of Business Administration, ALJGSB. He is also certified to administer the MBTI Step I and Step II, 16PF Questionnaire, and has Level I certification in Competency Profiling. He has also been trained in Alternative Dispute Resolution.
Some of his key interests involve employee engagement, people development, regional integration, photography and outdoor activities.
