Tribute
to PVC
Dale Webber
It is painful to say goodbye to our very affable boss, Professor Dale Webber.
During his tenure as PVC (Graduate Studies & Research), he demonstrated the core values found in The UWI’s 2017-2022 Strategic Plan such as integrity, excellence and student centeredness, amongst many others. The quality, however, that stands out most to us is his commitment to our strategic initiatives, which he impressed upon us tirelessly.
He is welcoming, jovial and supportive and his leadership made working in the office comfortable and enjoyable. He inspired us to achieve excellence not only in our attainment of The UWI’s objectives, but also of our own personal goals. His admirable work ethic, energy and enthusiasm in undertaking his various activities went a far way towards encouraging us and was often the spark that reignited our energies when a deadline was nigh.
Saying good bye to Professor Webber is bittersweet and we wish him great success in his new role.
Members of the School for Graduate Studies and Research
Prof Webber is a most gracious man of integrity and good humour. He sets you at ease by his welcoming, upbeat and supportive personality. He listens well and encourages continually and that is a gift that will continue to benefit The UWI, the institution to which he has dedicated much of his working life. Prof’s dedication to research, quality assurance and ethics indicates that these will continue to be the hallmark of his service. He has dedicated his life to serving The University and we are honoured to work alongside him as he takes the opportunity to contribute to the vision for this noble institution that is instrumental in the development of our Caribbean region.
