Research Ethics Committee

Welcome to the Global Campus Research Ethics website.

The UWI Global Campus Research Ethics Committee (elsewhere referred to as an institutional review board) has been formally designated to approve, monitor and review research, inter alia, behavioural research, research involving human participants and educational research.

Research ethics involves the application of fundamental ethical principles to research including the design, implementation and monitoring of research involving humans, animals experimentation, various aspects of academic scandal, including scientific misconduct (such as fraud, fabrication of data and  plagiarism) and regulation of research. Research Ethics is based on the understanding that it is the researchers’ responsibility to not harm the study participants.

The Research Ethics application process across The UWI has been automated. This Site provides all that you need to apply for research ethics approval, follow-up on your application and access your approval letter.
